The integration of the dose-rate measurement beacons (X-ray, gamma and neutron) of the experiment room into SAFIR’s safety PLC is planned for October 2026, which will complete the modernisation of the radiation protection system installed on SAFIR. The company ERIGIUM is carrying out the implementation, following on from the radiation protection cabinet installed in 2025.

A new safety cabinet has been installed on the SAFIR platform, as part of the continuous upgrade of the facility’s safety systems.
